Trivia

  • The lead vocal from Elton was accomplished by Elton whispering into the microphone during the rough vocal take.
  • Inspired by Marvin Gaye’s I Heard it Through the Grapevine and Sam & Dave.
  • Fred Mandel used a guitar (either a Tom Anderson or Ibanez) equipped with an vibrato arm to simulate slide in the final blues solo.
  • Elton has said this is is favorite track on the album during promotional interviews.
